Do you want to have your lot mowed but don’t know who to contact?
Call Dallas Jethro at 252-4820-2980. ASPOA uses Dallas to maintain the
shoulders along Pelican Ct. and Osprey Dr. Dallas also mows the lots of several
Albemarle Shores lot owners.
How to I get access through the Osprey Drive gate?
Contact Jim Floyd (252-482-2138) to obtain an access code, to report problems
with gate operations, or to replace a broken remote control.
When is the annual assessment due?
Owners are notified in December and payment is due by January 1st. Mailing
information is included with the annual notification from the ASPOA Treasurer.
When is the annual meeting held?
The annual members meeting of the Albemarle Shores Property Owners
Association is held on the last Saturday in April. The meeting is typically held in
the afternoon at the Edenton Hampton Inn on Route 32.
What are the Open Burning rules for Chowan County? Is a permit required?
Chowan County is considered a “High Hazard” County in accordance with North
Carolina State Statutes. The Division of Forest Resources website has
information on the permit process (Open Burning).

Visit the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission website to download the

Do I need a fishing license to fish from my pier?
Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, any person 16 and older fishing in North Carolina's public
waters (excluding private ponds) must have a fishing license. This includes
fishing from a private pier. (Fishing license)
Do I need a permit to build a pier or bulkhead?
The Coastal Area Management Act requires permits for development in Areas of
Environmental Concern (AEC). You must obtain a CAMA permit for your project if
it meets certain conditions. Please visit the CAMA website.
Are there plans to provide public water, sewer, gas, or cable television to
Albemarle Shores?
There are no plans by Chowan County or utility companies to provide any of
these services to our area. In 2006 the county polled the landowners along the
last two miles of Drummond’s Point Rd, including Albemarle Shores, about their
support for county water. 50% were in favor of county water and 50% were
opposed to county water.
Are there any restrictions on fences?
The Albemarle Shores covenants do not have any restrictions on fences.
